The decision was made to expand Raboâs fixed income and equity finance business and to find an integrated solution. Rabobank have being using ARTS for repo activity since 1999 and had a look at what Anvil could provide for equity lending. ARTS Securities Finance has the same core features in it that have made ARTS Repo so successful - real-time position management, excellent trade capture and execution and real-time margin monitoring etc. From an IT support point, it also means Rabo will only have one system to support, making ARTS extremely cost efficient.
The Anvil Order Management is a module for interfacing front-office position management and trade capture systems to multiple electronic exchanges, to maximise trading opportunities on exchanges and to achieve straight through processing from the market to back office. The initial installation will allow trading on BrokerTec, with full implementation expected by September.
Jason van Praagh, Co-Head Group Treasury London comments, "Weâre very happy to be continuing what is a very successful working relationship with Anvil. We like their products and we like the fact that they can be customised to fit the way we want to run our business. ARTS has worked really well for our repo desk and weâve also had excellent customer service from Anvil. Using ARTS for Securities Finance will not only be very cost-effective, but opens up opportunities for further development of our business. Meanwhile, the links to electronic exchanges provided by the Anvil Order Management module will really help to streamline our repo trading and maximise our use of electronic repo trading."
