More and more companies seek to modernise their applications and take full advantage of the benefits that cloud computing can deliver. The recent end-of-support for Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2, has increased the need to find partners with advanced skills to assess, plan, and migrate their existing workloads to the cloud.

GFT has now strengthened its credentials in that regard. The company has earned the Windows Server and SQL Server Migration to Microsoft Azure advanced specialisation, a validation of a solution partner’s deep knowledge, extensive experience and expertise in migrating Windows Server and SQL Server-based workloads to Azure.

This level distinguishes channel partners that have met the stringent criteria around customer success and staff skilling, as well as pass a third-party audit of their migration practices earning them this advanced specialization.

Dean Clark, GFT’s UK CTO comments, “GFT has built and managed many demanding customer solutions for over 30 years, and utilised Azure for over a decade. This specialisation is a confirmation to our clients that GFT is the right partner for them. We help them drive their business forwards using innovative Microsoft solutions”.

Alpesh Tailor, GFT’s Global Head of Cloud comments, “We continue to see an acceleration in the shift to cloud amongst clients across all sectors and geographies. To respond to this increasing demand from customers, our team of Azure experienced engineers and architects has doubled in the past year. This demonstrates GFT’s strong commitment to not only helping our clients succeed in their migration journey, but also in fully embracing the innovative power of the cloud”.

Andrew Smith, General Manager, Partner Program Management at Microsoft added, “The Windows Server and SQL Server Migration to Microsoft Azure advanced specialization highlights the partners who can be viewed as most capable when it comes to migrating Windows-based workloads over to Azure. GFT clearly demonstrated that they have both the skills and the experience to offer clients a path to successful migration, so that they can start enjoying the benefits of being in the cloud.”

GFT presently fields more than 365 Azure experienced engineers and architects worldwide, maintaining over 120 Microsoft certifications. As a Gold Microsoft Partner with five gold and two silver competencies, GFT has extensive experience in helping new and existing clients on their cloud transformation journey.
