Document storage firm Stor-a-file makes 2 new acquisitions

Leicestershire-based document storage company Stor-a-file is continuing its recent growth by acquiring two new companies within its sector, with the hope of boosting its operations within the London area.

Both Central London Storage and City Archives Supplies, which have been operating within the data archiving industry in the capital and the south-east for a number of years, have been purchased by the company.

The two acquisitions will be integrated into the Stor-a-file operation, which will now run from a 50,000 square foot warehouse positioned in east London.

Six vans will operate out of the warehouse, collecting and delivering data and documents around London on a daily basis, with the acquisitions helping Stor-a-file to increase the services it provides to clients.

The acquisitions will help Stor-a-file meet the demand for its services across the UK and grow its presence within the document storage industry.

The new client base will see a wider offering for Stor-a-file's existing document management services, which include document scanning, data capturing and document shredding services, alongside traditional storage and retrieval of files and boxes on clients' requests.

Gavin Prior, document storage manager at the firm, said the company is excited about expanding the brand into London and the south-east and the progress the organisation has made so far in 2014. "We now have more staff and transport available to provide a speedy response to their need for files or collections. At the same time it enables us to have more and better cover for our London based clients."

The acquisition of the two firms is the latest in a long line of purchases by the Leicestershire-based company, as it recently bought Paper Capture Ltd, a firm that specialises in “microfiche” digitisation.

Paper Capture’s past projects include working with vast libraries of Planning and Building Control and fiche for district and county councils, which now digitised, can be accessed by the general public via a local authority’s web portal, a process Stor-a-file can now offer to clients.
