Clear2Pay wins the ‘Flemish Government Award for the Most Promising Company’

On Tuesday of this week, Clear2Pay, the international technology provider of next generation payment solutions for financial institutions was awarded the Award for the 2009 Most Promising Company by the Belgian authorities at an award ceremony in Brussels, attended by over 2,000 company representatives.

The judges unanimously chose the financial technology company Clear2Pay for the ‘Award of the Flemish Government for Most Promising Company 2009’. The prize for most promising company is celebrating its fifth anniversary edition. The award is always presented to a first generation company that is experiencing strong growth and clearly profiling itself in one of the following criteria: competitiveness, innovation, internationalisation, entrepreneurship, responsible management and vision. Clear2Pay joins the list of winners from previous years, namely Netlog (2008), Financial Architects (2007), Transics (2006) and Televic (2005).

The chairman of the Jury Geert Noels says about Clear2Pay: “Clear2Pay impressed the judges with a very high score on the TI² (Technology, Innovation, International) scale. The strong technology, the innovative approach and the focus on an international growth from the beginning at the company in this globally operating sector allowed Clear2Pay to grow at a rapid tempo as a young company to a level that many more mature companies do not achieve. Furthermore the judges hold the opinion that the growth of Clear2Pay is far from complete, there is certainly more than enough room to grow in the coming years, even in these less favourable market conditions, which further increases the need for better and faster payment systems.”

Jurgen Ingels, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of Clear2Pay who accepted the award together with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michel Akkermans states: “We are obviously delighted to win this award in the market where we founded our company and where our success began. We view this as mainly as a reward for our team of over 450 professionals who passionately work on behalf of our customers around the world.”
