Formicary Ltd, an independent IT consultancy company, is hosting a second Enterprise Group Chat Forum aimed at end users with a commitment to Unified Communications and in particular, persistent Group Chat. Building on the success of an inaugural event held in May 2009, the forum will provide an opportunity for persistent group chat enthusiasts to share experiences and openly discuss future developments of the technology with a guest speaker from Microsoft Corp.
A common solution used by many of the world’s major Investment Banks, Persistent Group Chat promotes mobility and agility whilst allowing businesses to organise discussions in persistent communication which improves communication flow. For many existing Group Chat users, it is a proven solution that has the ability to reduce the number of emails, phone calls and loud verbal discussions on a trading floor and other business environments.
The first Enterprise Group Chat Forum included IT executives representing organisations such as The Royal Bank of Scotland, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, J.P. Morgan Securities, Nomura Corporation, West LB, Commerzbank, LCH. Clearnet and BGC Partners. The forum is also open to any organisation that is interested to find out more about benefits of persistent group chat and how it will fit into their business environment.
Speaker at the first forum, Amit Gupta, senior program manager, Unified Communications Group of Microsoft, Corp commented, “It’s great to have customers talking openly and sharing their views on persistent group chat. The whole principal behind Group Chat is to facilitate easier communication. Formicary’s Enterprise Group Chat Forum does just that - open up communication. As well hearing about any group chat developments in our Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2, the forum allows attendees to share knowledge and learn from the experiences of their peers. As the agenda is set by the group’s participants, attendees can be assured that the forum will more than likely cover subjects that are pertinent to them. Judging on the success of the previous event, we are in for some lively, constructive discussion and debate. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Formicary on further group chat developments in our Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2”.
