Panopticon's New Horizon Graph Receives Accolades from UC Berkeley

The Information Visualization industry is talking again about Panopticon's Horizon Graph visualization for time series analysis. Three information visualization researchers at the University of California, Berkeley became interested in the Horizon Graph and independently performed a detailed evaluation study of this time series visualization. Their scientific paper "Sizing the Horizon: The Effects of Chart Size and Layering on the Graphical Perception of Time Series Visualizations" was nominated for the CHI (Computer-Human Interaction) Best Paper Award. The research demonstrated that Panopticon's Horizon Graph has the ability to meaningfully display 50 plus time series data sets on a single screen for comparison.

UC Berkeley's comments are a great follow-up to those of Stephen Few, who originally wrote about the Horizon Graph in his article titled "Time on the Horizon" back in June 2008. Also, be sure to click on Stephen's new blog from January 16th titled "Horizon Graphs Revisited", where he shares his comments on UC Berkeley's paper and their academic validation of Panopticon's time series visualization.

Join the revolution! Utilize Panopticon's Horizon Graph and other data visualizations to help find hidden patterns, spot problems or identify opportunities that can be buried in mounds of data. These effective visualization solutions allow business users to quickly see and comprehend useful information in large datasets, disparate datasets or streaming real time data. Compete on data analytics today!
