Complinet, the leading provider of connected solutions that deliver compliance intelligence to the financial services industry, has been highly commended at this year’s Annual Data Publishers Association Awards for Product Development of the Year for their early warning system, Tracker.
Complinet was shortlisted in the Product Development of the Year category and awarded the highly commended accolade for Tracker, an early warning system for regulatory developments, launched in 2007. Tracker is a web-based solution that automates the labour-intensive, manual and administrative tasks traditionally associated with monitoring and reviewing multiple regulatory and exchange websites. Tracker allows users to create customised profiles whereby they receive only regulatory developments relevant to them - saving valuable time – and facilitating a cost effective approach to regulation affecting their business.
In addition, the key to Tracker’s success has been editorial quality and a dedicated team of highly qualified former regulators and former compliance practitioners has been assembled to analyse and dissect regulatory events as they emerge from the regulators. In common with all Complinet editorial content, each piece of copy undergoes rigorous subbing and each piece of content is categorised against Complinet’s unique financial services taxonomy. This taxonomy is quickly emerging as the industry standard allowing the user to search or filter Tracker by regulator, country, document type, subject or sector.
The DPA Awards recognise and promote excellence in directory and data publishing and celebrate the best directory and data companies. The judges look at editorial content, innovation, creativity, interactivity and connectivity amongst other things.
The Product Development of the Year category is highly competitive and the biggest category of the award ceremony with a very high standard of entries. The judges praised Tracker’s ability to offer a unique solution to the industry in the current climate and recognised that the ability to track regulatory developments is critical in a market that is facing stiff regulatory reform and pressure on budgets.
Stacey English, head of regulatory affairs, accepted the award on behalf of Complinet and said “Complinet’s clients are made up of the major firms within the financial services industry. As we’re all aware they are facing increasing regulatory pressures so we are very proud to provide them with an early warning system that helps them comply with regulatory developments.”
Greg Kilminster, group managing director, Regulatory Insight said:
“By automating the tasks that used to be performed manually, Tracker pays for itself within six months.”
Tracker, as part of Complinet’s 'complete' offering of compliance intelligence to the industry, including news, rulebooks and practice notes etc., is relevant for the financial market with strong ROI to help cost conscious firms meet their compliance obligations.
The number of regulators and exchanges currently monitored by Tracker has grown from 50 to 115 in the past year alone. Additionally, the solution now enables financial professionals to keep up to date with global regulatory changes spanning over 23 different countries.
