At the Next Generation Access to Finance conference in Washington, Temenos Group (SWX: TEMN), the provider of integrated core banking systems, and FE-Mobile, the provider of mobile banking applications, today announced their partnership to deliver mobile banking functionality within TEMENOS ARC (ARC), Temenos T24’s (T24) integral front-office suite. Mobile banking functionality will be also offered as part of Temenos eMerge™, the pre-configured ‘bank in a box’, specifically designed for microfinance and emerging markets.
ARC delivers a complete suite of front-office functionality, including multi-channel banking, operational and analytical CRM and workflow processing tools. Through this partnership, FE-Mobile’s SecureLink™ technology will interface with ARC, enabling banks to implement easy-to-use, differentiated mobile banking services, providing increased multi-channel capability. FE-Mobile’s technology includes handset software deployed at installation and at server component level. This secures the handset, protects the link and validates the endpoints for every message exchanged.
Phil Sorrell, CEO, FE-Mobile, says: “With the market changing rapidly, banks need robust and efficient multi-channel solutions, especially in countries where mobile phones may be the only reliable method of communication. Together, Temenos and FE-Mobile will enable banks to quickly launch highly secure, rich in functionality mobile banking services, while removing the risks and complexity of software integration.”
T24 is a functionally rich, thin client, scalable, integrated, modular banking system. It is built on open system principles and uses established technology standards such as HTTP, XML and HTML. It offers a single client view across the enterprise and can support large numbers of users with true non-stop resilience. Its fully-integrated architecture enables it to offer a significant cost advantage compared to other competing products. It offers multiple application server support and is the only system available with no end-of-day batch processing and so can genuinely boast of providing real-time 24/7 non-stop banking.
Mark Gunning, group strategy director, Temenos, comments: “When we set out to offer a new mobile banking solution, we knew that we wanted to deliver something that surpassed the existing products in the market. Partnering with FE-Mobile provides our clients with a solution that uses state of the art and best-of-breed security, delivers rich functionality, both online and offline in real-time and on the widest range of handsets. This compares to most solutions used by banks today that provide mobile banking in less than fully secure “SMS-like” format screens. Through integration with ARC and use of the ARC architecture, we can provide a low cost solution that is able to seamlessly expose standard T24 functionality through the mobile channel.”
Temenos has an international client-base of over 590 financial institutions and continues to attract global tier 1 and regional banks as a result of its superior products, T24 and Temenos™ CoreBanking.
