Orange Business Services – Trading Solutions today announced NetRecova, a major enhancement of its managed network redirection service that minimises interruption to voice trading in the event of a disaster. NetRecova re-routes private lines to a back-up site, enabling voice trading to be resumed within two hours of the main dealing room going off-line.
“Business continuity planning is a high priority for our clients, said Graham Boyes, Manager, Network Business Development. “In addition to their regulatory obligations, institutions are now considering the commercial implications of business interruption, from loss of commission to long-term reputational risk. NetRecova enables those risks to be mitigated by ensuring a speedy resumption of trading activity.”
Major trading institutions in London and Paris have already signed up for the NetRecova service, which is based on the secure and reliable Etrali Trading Network. Used in conjunction with the advanced free-seating capabilities of the Etrali voice trading turrets, NetRecova provides the best solution for quickly moving trading activity between sites in the event of disaster. The NetRecova service is also available to users of other trading systems and network providers.
Orange Business Services – Trading Solutions works with NetRecova clients to define disaster recovery processes, subject to stringent authentication procedures, so that they can be activated and revoked quickly and securely.
In the event of business interruption at a primary trading site, NetRecova customers can specify which circuits to re-route to their disaster recovery site based on an established routing plan, allowing partial or total restoration of voice trading as appropriate to the circumstances. Activation is guaranteed within either two or four hours of an authenticated request, depending on the service level selected by the client.
“Institutions use private lines for their most critical trading communications, so backing them up is increasingly being recognised as an essential component of business continuity planning,” said Boyes. “Whereas permanent duplication of circuits is both a grossly inefficient use of network resources and a potential security risk, NetRecova provides a simple, secure and scalable disaster recovery solution.””
