Fiserv CBS Worldwide, a division of Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV), a Fortune 500 company, recently won IBM’s “Fastest Solutions Deployment” recognition award for its core banking system on IBM’s iSeries platform.
The award recognized Fiserv’s record-breaking implementation to go live with its ICBS core banking system at a major financial institution in the Asia-Pacific region in just 7.5 months, while consolidating a number of systems to improve the bank’s efficiency.
“Receiving this accolade from IBM emphasizes the outstanding implementation record that Fiserv enjoys in Asia-Pacific and demonstrates IBM’s and Fiserv’s long-standing reputation for getting banks into live operation on schedule in the region,” said Stephen Thurley, Asia Pacific sales director with Fiserv ASPAC Pte. Ltd.
Fiserv received the award from Nick Lambert, head of IBM iSeries for Asia Pacific, and Bill Donongue, IBM Worldwide vice president for iSeries sales, at the IBM iSeries Asia- Pacific Strategic Planning Conference 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand. During the May 2006 conference, IBM handed out awards to their ISV/SI partners and before more than 450 iSeries customers and industry partners.
Fiserv’s commitment to IBM recently expanded with Fiserv’s announcement last month of a Linux version of its core banking solution. The solution, which will be generally available in the first quarter of 2007, will run on the IBM pSeries platform.
