London, 5 June 2006 – Financial Objects, a leading international supplier of advanced technology software solutions for banking, wealth management and risk, today announced the appointment of Roland Jones as managing director of its newly formed Risk Management division. In this role, Jones will oversee Financial Objects’ operational risk, credit risk and UK Professional Services business, leading the division to its next stage of growth. Building on recent successes in the energy trading sector, Jones will also be responsible for developing this market in both Europe and the US.

Jones has twenty-five years experience delivering high value IT solutions to the financial services industry, much of it overseas in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. His career has spanned roles in sales and sales management; operations and implementation management; software support and development, including the building and training of teams in these disciplines.
Jones has spent the last few years focusing on the investment management and market risk sectors having been managing director of Market Data Systems Ltd until its acquisition by a significant Asset Management systems provider. Jones’ career began in sales with IBM before moving to BIS Banking Systems for 12 years, during which he held a number of senior roles based in Luxembourg, Bahrain and Singapore, managing multi-disciplinary teams. When BIS was acquired by ACT, Jones left to take on the role of international sales director for AFA Systems in London.
