Insurance.com to Power Web-Based Insurance Sales With Informatica Data Integration

Leading online auto insurance company selects Informatica PowerCenter to drive real-time customer interactions

Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration software, today announced that Insurance.com, the leading online auto insurance company in the U.S., has selected the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform to help power its online, real-time insurance quoting and purchasing service. Processing as many as two million records each day, PowerCenter will enable a wide range of intelligent, real-time interactions with consumers visiting Insurance.com —a capability projected by Insurance.com to result in an immediate five to 10 percent increase in the company’s sales-conversion rate.

Currently, Insurance.com collects immense volumes of Web site data for business intelligence and reporting purposes, though not in real time. PowerCenter will enable the company to capture the 100 to 150 data elements generated by each customer as they are guided through the insurance quote process and integrate that data in real time into an active data warehouse where it can be used to initiate meaningful online interactions. With daily volumes ranging upwards of two million records, Insurance.com’s data administrators will be able to leverage PowerCenter to monitor how data is being moved and transformed, and take action to avoid processing bottlenecks during peak periods.
