MarketXS appoints Jan de Roeck as Chief Executive Officer

MarketXS appoints Jan de Roeck as Chief Executive Officer

Schiphol Oost, Netherlands - December 6, 2005 - MarketXS, the leading provider of real-time market data technology and trading solutions, today announced that it has appointed Jan De Roeck as Chief Executive Officer.

MarketXS Founder Floris Alkemade comments: 'We are delighted that Jan has accepted my personal invitation to come on board as CEO. The key ambition for MarketXS is to further scale the business on an international level, following the success we have had with hundreds of customers in our region, with various major banks and since recently with major inter-dealer brokers such as GFI Group. Jan is widely respected in our industry for his deep knowledge of the market data and trading business, commercial talent and strong network. We see Jan as the ideal person to execute on MarketXS' strategy for growth, both on an autonomous basis and through selected acquisitions, and to work with the rest of the team to take MarketXS to the next level. I will continue to be actively involved as founder, majority owner and member of the supervisory board in a strategic business development role, with a focus on product development, strategic partnerships, external growth and funding.'

Jan De Roeck joins MarketXS from ABN AMRO Bank, where he served until recently as Executive Director and Global Head of the Wholesale Clients 'Finance to Finance' team out of Amsterdam, London and New York. In this capacity Jan originated and executed various high-profile Corporate Finance transactions in the market data industry, including the acquisition of Telerate by Moneyline in 2001, the acquisition of Telerate Benelux by MarketXS and the arranging of a simultaneous funding round in 2004, the acquisition of MTS by a joint venture of Euronext and Borsa Italiana, and various advisory ships for among others Reuters, SWIFT and the Australian Stock Exchange.

In an earlier position at ABN AMRO Bank, Jan was the Head of Global Market Data & Dealing Room Technology. Prior to his years at ABN AMRO Bank, Jan served in various senior Sales and Marketing positions at Dow Jones Telerate, and prior to that at Rank Xerox.

As the new CEO for MarketXS, Jan De Roeck will have a specific focus on solidifying relationships with existing customers and accelerating autonomous growth by expanding relationships with the larger banks, brokers and exchanges. In the next years MarketXS will further specialize in delivering white-labelling technology for data distribution and order routing; dealing room platforms (HMDP based on TRS technology) in partnership with Hyperfeed; and MiFID compliance solutions based on the hosted MarketXS infrastructure.

Says Jan De Roeck: 'I have known the team at MarketXS for quite some time, and I have always been impressed with the job the company has done in developing a full-featured market data distribution and order routing platform from the ground up and building up a substantial customer base. The founders have brought the company to its current status as a healthy, self-sufficient operation, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to lead the company through its next growth phase.'

In the new Management Board set-up, Ronald Kleinveld will act as Chief Operating Officer. In his current role as Managing Director, Ronald already bears the responsibility of running the company's operations. Former COO Marc Visser will take up the position of Chief Financial Officer.
