HERNDON, Va., October 25, 2004 – In the midst of an increasingly stringent global regulatory environment, Fiserv CBS Worldwide, a unit of Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV), has reached an agreement with Mantas, Inc. to provide anti-money laundering (AML) technology to its financial services clients globally. With the cost of non-compliance growing daily, Fiserv CBS clients now have a trusted, proven, and cost-effective means to meet compliance requirements worldwide.
Alex Groenendyk, President of Fiserv CBS Worldwide, said, "Risk management is becoming increasingly challenging for our customers who strive to remain compliant as they encounter more and more AML regulations. Partnering with Mantas, who has been consistently recognized as best-of-breed in AML, allows us to help our clients avoid the costly penalties of non-compliance by offering them the most advanced and sophisticated compliance solution available on the market today."
Fiserv and Mantas will collaborate on sales, marketing and the implementation of the newly released Mantas Behavior Detection Platform™ 4.0 and its core AML application, the Mantas Anti-Money Laundering Solution™ 4.0. Both the platform and the AML application integrate with ICBS, Fiserv’s core banking solution, ensuring compliance for Fiserv’s global customer base.
The joint AML solution includes a set of scenarios developed by Mantas for detecting inappropriate or suspicious behaviour patterns or actions. The platform allows users to install additional AML scenarios and to implement trading compliance, broker compliance or mutual fund trading compliance capabilities as their needs change.
The latest AML solution detects behaviors of interest, such as transactions involving high-risk geographies or entities, anomalies or changes in account behaviour, rapid movement of funds, and hidden relationships between accounts or among other entities.
A flexible, browser-based interface for managing alerts, which includes a workflow for tracking each alert from initiation through investigation to closure, is also a component of the system. Once the appropriate compliance personnel have taken action, an audit trail of each suspicious incident is automatically produced and archived.
Mark Tice, EVP of the Americas for Mantas, said, "A decision like this reflects the importance Fiserv places on providing its customers with the best AML solution available. This agreement continues to reinforce Mantas’ recognition as the firm that the market trusts and opens the door to thousands of potential customers needing to automate their compliance systems."
