Micros, Servebase and Thyron combine to provide fully Integrated Chip and PIN solution for Hospitality

London, U.K, 13th September 2004 - Thyron Systems, the specialist manufacturer of terminals and applications for secure mobile and portable card transactions are one of three technology partners involved in the launch of one of the most advanced, integrated solution for Chip and PIN in restaurant and Hotel operations.

Working in conjunction with Micros Fidelio, the Hospitality industry’s major technology solution provider and Servebase, one of the fastest growing global EFT card processing software providers, this exciting solution will be showcased at the Micros stand during the forthcoming "Restaurant Show", held in Olympia, London from September 20th to 22nd 2004.

The extensive development, carried out by all three organisations, has ensured that all the requisite hardware, software and integration into the Micros product suite, will provide existing and prospective Micros users a true "Pay at Table" chip and PIN solution.

The solution is built upon the use of Thyron System’s W-LAN based PayCell® MPT500 hand held terminal which can process chip and PIN as well as conventional magnetic stripe cards at the table and interfaces into Servebase’s PC-EFT Version 3 card processing software. PC-EFT provides the required interface into the Micros systems to pass transaction data to and from the payment terminal and this in turn passes all authorisation and settlement transactions to the banking networks.

Representatives from Micros, Servebase and Thyron will be on hand at the event to answer any questions relating to this or any other chip and PIN EPOS requirements.
