CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER TO DEFINE COMPANY-WIDE POLICIES FOR INFORMATION SECURITY.
London - Reuters, the global information, news and technology group, has appointed Leslie Macartney as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), responsible for defining and implementing global information security policies and procedures across the enterprise. Based in London, she will report to Martin Vickery, Reuters Director of Information Technology Services and Security and Greg Meekings, Reuters Chief Information Officer.
In this role, Leslie will lead the planning and supervision of Reuters global computer and network information security systems, defining company-wide policies for information security and enhancing the security of Reuters products, services and infrastructures. This appointment underlines Reuters commitment and focus to ensure information security for the company and its customers.
Leslie brings over 20 years of IT and information security experience. She joins Reuters from Aviva plc., where as Head of Group Information Security, she defined group-wide policies for information security, established a security steering group for international business, and developed and adapted security risk and measurement methodologies to compliment Group Business Risk processes for Combined Code reporting. She was previously an Information Security Consultant for KPMG where she planned a worldwide implementation of a major airline's Information Security Policy, reviewed and revised security management roles and responsibilities for an international manufacturing group, and planned implementation for a UK Bank's Information Security Policy.
Leslie is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and Chairman of the Board for CISM(tm) (the new Certified Information Security Manager designation). She is also a member of the British Standards Institute's BDD/2 committee responsible for information security standards in the UK. She is a noted speaker on Information Security, both internationally and locally, a leading advocate of the need for security awareness, and a proponent of good metrics for measuring success in security implementation.
