NEW YORK, October 23, 2001-- SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, an operating
group of SunGard (NYSE: SDS), today announced that Eksportfinans, the
Norwegian Export Credit Agency, has selected Panorama for straight-through
risk management and processing of its treasury operations.
Eksportfinans is owned by the Norwegian Government and by commercial and
savings banks throughout Norway. The institution was established in 1962
to develop and offer competitive, long-term financial services on their
behalf, to the export industries and the municipal sector.
Eksportfinans selected Panorama for straight-through processing of its
treasury activities and for integrated market and credit risk management,
including limits management. Panorama will support all instruments,
including complex derivatives.
Mai-Lill Ibsen, deputy chief executive officer of Eksportfinans, said, "We
selected Panorama because it is the most flexible and robust solution for
comprehensive treasury activities, risk management and processing. With
one solution, we can achieve straight-through processing, support for
complex derivatives, integrated market and credit risk analysis, global
credit limit management and a flexible and extensible architecture that can
support future growth."
Ms. Ibsen continued, "We sought a system as a replacement for a legacy
solution we had been using that could not handle our increasing volumes and
growing sophistication. Panorama will enable us to achieve our goals for
growth with improved internal controls. "
Gavin Lavelle, president of Panorama, said, "We are pleased that Eksportfinans have joined many SunGard clients in the Nordic region to choose Panorama as their straight-through processing and risk solution.
SunGard's ongoing commitment to the region is reflected in the support of
these premier institutions."
