Swiss FinTech Awards 2017 crowns Qumram “Growth Stage Startup of the Year” in recognition of outstanding progress and growth throughout 2016
Qumram, a leading global RegTech firm providing digital compliance and risk management solutions, has been awarded its third top accolade, in just three months – this time at the Swiss FinTech Awards 2017 ceremony in Zurich, on 9 March 2017. In December 2016, Qumram won the prestigious Private Banker International Award: Outstanding Front-End Digital Solution, and in February 2017 Qumram won the highly-coveted WealthBriefing Swiss Award 2017: Most Innovative FinTech.
Qumram allows all digital activity and interactions (web, social, and mobile) to be recorded and replayed, in movie-like form, providing a transparent digital audit trail for financial services organizations. This enables global banks, investment and wealth management firms, insurance companies, and other financial institutions, to comply with regulatory requirements for digital record-keeping: MIFID-II, FINRA, SEC, ESMA, FFSA, FIDLEG, the Department of Labor fiduciary rule, and more. Qumram also facilitates fraud detection (monitoring digital behavior of employees as well as interactions from external sources), and delivers actionable customer insights that improve customer experience.
Qumram’s most recent victory, at the Swiss FinTech Awards, follows a lengthy and intensive selection process involving 70 applicants, and a jury of 22 financial services executives, FinTech experts, and academics. To win this top prize, Qumram impressed the jury throughout multiple presentations, an Accenture Bootcamp, and a one-on-one speed-dating session with every member of the jury and the Award Patrons Club.
The Swiss FinTech Awards is organized by Switzerland's leading financial media company, Finanz und Wirtschaft. According to Mark Dittli, editor-in-chief, “Qumram has proven that a FinTech company from Switzerland can successfully expand globally. We believe that Qumram’s solution has the potential to become the gold standard for digital compliance and customer insights in the financial services sector.”
George H. Schmidt, a Partner at Accenture, commented: “The Qumram team impressed the jury with its substantial achievements. The firm’s evolution over the last twelve months, both as a company and as a team, is exemplary.”
The achievements referred to by Mr. Schmidt include:
- New banking, insurance, wealth and asset management customers globally, including two landmark deals in North America, and four out of the five top Swiss banks
- Securing angel investor funding of 4.1 million Swiss Francs in 2016
- Growing presence in the UK, USA, Canada, the Benelux and Australia
- Winning eight global financial services awards; Qumram is continually ranked one of the Top 5 global FinTech and RegTech providers by independent industry experts and analysts
- Building a diverse leadership team, comprising thought leaders and influencers in FinTech and RegTech; including females featured in the Innovate Finance ‘Women in FinTech Power List’
Patrick Barnert, CEO at Qumram, said: “I am immensely proud of the fantastic work our team does, every day, and of the results we are achieving. This award motivates us to continue achieving at the highest level, as we work hard to bring compliance and analytical insights into financial services. Our plans haven’t changed. We know that our solution is a must-have for every financial services organization with a digital initiative. Not next year, or even tomorrow. It is a regulatory requirement today. Our prospects now realize this too, which is fueling Qumram’s growth.”
Simon Scheurer, co-founder and CTO at Qumram commented: “For me, personally, this is a very important moment. Our progress over the last year confirms what we believed in when we started the company – compliant digital interactions are a fundamental legal requirement but, more importantly, the vast big data collected throughout the compliance process can support client-centricity, and bring huge value in terms of business insights. We are continuously investing, to evolve our solution. The next big release will include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.”
