UNICOM Global has announced that its mainframe solutions will support the new z/VSE 6.2 operating system, which will be released by IBM on December 1, 2017. Day one support will enable UNICOM customers to quickly realize the benefits of z/VSE’s latest performance, security and connectivity enhancements.
The focus of z/VSE V6.2 is on supporting high volume online transaction processing, along with connectivity improvements that allow easier integration into heterogeneous technology environments running web-based business solutions. Enhanced cryptographic services in z/VSE 6.2 will help customers to increase the security of their online and batch applications.
"Mainframes are increasingly connected to the online world, powering the business applications that ecommerce relies on,” said Larry Lawler, Chief Technology Officer at UNICOM Global. “z/VSE 6.2 will provide the enhanced connectivity and scalability that digital enterprises need. At the same time, z/VSE’s security improvements are an important advance in the battle against cyber criminals.”
UNICOM Global’s z/VSE systems management solutions keep enterprise systems running smoothly and reduce the costs and timescales involved in supporting critical mainframe applications.
