Misys creates hat-trick of new executive positions in Treasury and Capital Markets business in the Americas

Trio will drive growth strategy and play major part in delivering new services including ‘Software as a Service’ in the region

Increased focus on Latin America will see lead office in Mexico City more than double in size this year

Misys, the global software and solutions company, has created three new senior positions in its Treasury & Capital Markets business in the Americas. They will deliver the company’s new strategic objectives in that region, including a fresh drive into the Latin American market and the creation of a new services and consulting business.

Steve Mills has been appointed as Head of Latin America Business Operations in a new role that focuses on the delivery of solutions to financial institutions in the region. Misys Treasury & Capital Markets has a significant and growing customer base in Mexico, Brazil, Columbia and Suriname and Mills will oversee the expansion in the Mexico City office, which takes the lead for the region, doubling staff numbers and expanding the number of partners throughout South America. John Fryer has been appointed Head of Professional Services with responsibility for delivering the company’s solutions services in the United States and Canada. Ralph Herdman has been named Head of Business Solutions Group to oversee all pre-sales activity around treasury and capital markets software.

All three executives are longstanding Misys employees with a wide range of experience from the financial services and technology industries and they will report into Steve Victore, Managing Director for the Americas, Misys Treasury and Capital Markets, who comments: "These seasoned executives all have previous experience of working at leading Wall Street firms and bring direct knowledge of capital markets to the table, as well as an understanding of the business drivers and needs of our banking customers. Ensuring we have the right experience and skills is critical to our goal of enabling financial institutions to capitalize on the major revenue opportunities across their business.”

Steve Mills was previously Business Solutions Group Manager for the Americas, leading business development across two core software solutions – Misys Opics Plus and Misys Loan IQ - throughout North & South America and the Caribbean. Mills successfully expanded both products into new client and geographic segments gaining 13 new name clients in the last 18 months. He joined Misys 10 years ago as a Business Analyst.

John Fryer was previously Executive Director for Consulting Services for Misys’ trademark multi-asset class solution, Misys Summit FT, and will now be tasked with delivering Misys’ full set of treasury and capital markets software & services to a diverse set of customers including Tier One sell-side firms, regional banks, GSEs, Administrators & asset service providers and asset managers. Ralph Herdman, previously a Sales Director with experience in a variety of business and product roles with leading derivatives solution providers, will provide an expanded focus on Misys Treasury & Capital Markets’ biggest solution lines, Summit FT, Loan IQ and Opics Plus, as well as delivering Software as a Service offerings for all three.
