Morgan Stanley hires new European equity head

Morgan Stanley has hired Graham Keniston-Copper to head its private equity business in Europe.

Mr Keniston-Cooper joins the US bank from Lazard European Private Equity Partners, where he was responsible for setting up and managing Lazard's European private equity business.

In his new role, Mr Keniston-Cooper will report to Alan Jones and Stephen Trevor and will be charged with building a London-based private equity team to focus especially on direct investments, joint ventures, leveraged buyouts and fund investments.

The appointment comes as Morgan Stanley is seeks to expand its private equity investment business, having recently confirmed that it is planning to raise between $5 and $6 billion for a new third-party fund.

Mr Trevor said: "Graham has a proven track record in European private equity investing.We believe his knowledge and expertise will help drive the success of our private equity business, not only in Europe but globally as well."
