Markit Group Limited (“Markit”), the leading provider of independent data, portfolio valuations and OTC derivatives trade processing to the global financial and commodities markets, today announced that it has appointed Trevor Hill as a Managing Director and Global Head of Human Resources (“HR”), based in London.

Hill joins the Markit executive team from Toronto Dominion Bank where he worked for over 25 years in Canada and the UK, most recently as Managing Director of HR for Europe.

Following Markit’s acquisition this year of Communicator Inc, Chasen Enterprises and MarketXS Holding, the company has over 300 employees and 10 offices in three continents. Hill will play a pivotal role in the integration and redeployment of staff, and will implement a firm-wide HR policy to support the growth of the business and manage the fast-growing workforce.

Responsibilities will include the development and implementation of strategy for recruitment, training, performance management, compensation, employee relations and diversity.

Lance Uggla, CEO of Markit, said: “I am delighted to have Trevor on board. His wealth of experience will be a great asset to our team, and I am confident that he will reinforce our HR practices by implementing a global strategy that reflects our values and objectives.”
