XML Specification Document is a flexible tool for advanced Fractal Map Creation

London, UK – 27th April 2005 – Fractal:Edge today announced the release of the Fractal Map XML Specification which provides advanced users and developers with close control over a wide range of core Fractal Map settings and the ability to brand the surrounding application. This advanced tool will also allow users to leverage customized modules and application extensions created using the Fractal:SDK.

Through a simple, Web services-like XML interface the Fractal Map XML Specification gives programmers increased control required to carry out actions ranging from advanced data acquisition and representation to sophisticated mathematical modelling. In addition, users can create a branded environment for Fractal Map applications. This means that Fractal Edge applications can be customised for specific visualization purposes either in a client setting or as part of a distribution partners’ application set.

"The Fractal Edge suite of products has been designed with maximum flexibility in mind," said Fractal Edge CTO Gervase Clifton-Bligh. "I am very pleased to announce the release of the Fractal Map XML Specification, which brings advanced control features to a broader base of power users and developers."

The syntax required by the highly configurable XML file, at the heart of Fractal:Edge’s flexible architecture, is described fully in the Fractal Map XML Specification. Advanced animation features are also included to clarify changes in data over time, as well as keying and joining systems to integrate Fractal Maps with complex relational data sources. It also provides a complete logical and mathematical expression set, control of application menus and core COM class ID reference.
