Rizwan Kadir Named New Regional Director for PRMIA Chicago

January 3, 2003 The Professional Risk Managers International Association (PRMIA) is pleased to announce that Rizwan Kadir has been elected Regional Director for PRMIA Chicago.

Based on the recommendation of the PRMIA Chicago Steering Committee and the PRMIA Regional Director Support and Standards Committee, the Board of Directors of PRMIA approved the appointment of Rizwan Kadir to serve as Regional Director in Chicago, PRMIA's third largest chapter.

Commenting on PRMIA's plans in Chicago, Mr. Kadir said "PRMIA caters to professionals with a broad array of interests, allowing it to be a financial risk management group, while simultaneously cultivating a reputation as a major finance and business association." He continued, "Having a free membership allows non-risk professionals to expand their horizons without committing financial resources, truly engaging in the free exchange of ideas."

PRMIA Chicago has over 500 members, but expects to rapidly expand this base with approaches to other associations in the Chicago finance community as well as to the exchanges and leading academic institutions.

"I expect Rizwan will leverage the Chicago steering committee and successfully advance the Chicago chapter since he has a contageously positive attitude, has demonstrated focus, and gave a clear articulation of the goals for PRMIA Chicago," said Mark Abbott, a member of the PRMIA Board of Directors and Regional Director Support and Standards Committee. "He has gained significant professional respect from those that have known him."

Rizwan Kadir is the co-founder and CFO of OptometryExchange, Inc. and has served as a consultant to numerous firms, including Wells Fargo Foreign Exchange Risk Management Advisory and Doerge Capital Management. He spent five years with ABN AMRO Chicago Corporation as both an Institutional Equity Trading and an Accounting Manager. He has an MBA in Analytic Finance, Economics, and International Business from the University of Chicago. Besides undergraduate education at Northwestern University, he has completed extensive post-MBA coursework in quantitative finance at Chicago. He is an active member of the University of Chicago Alumni Roundtable.

Mr. Kadir replaces David R. Koenig, who has been elected Chair of the PRMIA Board of Directors.
