The European Commission is increasing the transparency of Securities Financing Transactions markets, which are not currently covered through other regulations. SFTR will require firms to report their SFTs (Securities Financing Transactions) to an approved EU trade repository from 2019.
Firms affected include banks, investment firms, CCPs, CSDs, insurance, reinsurance undertakings, pension funds, UCITs, AIFs and non-financial counterparties.
