GFT at Retail Banking International conference 2019 in London this month

15 April 2019

GFT is delighted to be sponsoring the 34th annual Retail Banking International (RBI) conference in London later this month on Wednesday 24 April. The event, taking place at The Waldorf Hilton, brings industry leaders together to examine how the retail banking sector is embracing digital innovation, enhancing operational efficiency and delivering new, improved services for customers.

The conference will focus especially on the current banking landscape, industry collaborations and how firms can protect themselves from economic upheaval to thrive in a fast-paced environment at such a critical time for creating innovative customer products.

Our very own Christian Ball (Head of Retail Financial Services) will be speaking at 11:50 on ‘Driving digital transformation through the monetisation of open banking’. Christian will be sharing some of the main challenges and monetisation opportunities emerging on the back of open banking in UK.

He will also discuss how culture and technology are fundamental to the monetisation of open banking and elaborate on how the challenges of open banking (customer awareness, consent and internal agility) can be overcome. Christian will highlight emerging business models and how this is also driving ever greater adoption of ‘new technology’ such as cloud and AI/ML to underpin it.

Later that day, Wednesday 24 April, Christian will also be speaking at a SEAM event in London entitled 'Transformation in Financial Services'. Christian will be talking about how the overall financial services industry is transforming as a result of open banking regulation, disruptor banks and global consumer giants like Apple making move.
