A lead developer at bespoke software consultancy Scott Logic has been confirmed among the speakers at a leading technology conference.
Dan Cook will speak at Voxxed Days Bristol 2017, which this year will take place at The Watershed in the city on March 2nd.
Dan, who joined Scott Logic in December last year, is among 10 presenters that have so far been confirmed for the one-day event, which will feature the latest and future topics in Java and Cloud development, and is the only Voxxed Days event being held in the UK.
He said: “My talk, on high velocity streaming with Kafka and Spark, is relevant to companies that process huge volumes of data and need to do so in real time. For instance, banks that want to detect credit card fraud as it happens, not after someone has already run up a bill.
“With the advent of the Internet of Things, never before has streaming been a more appropriate software solution; think of a network of sensors all sending out data that needs to be processed. This talk aims to show you how to achieve this."
Launched in 2015, Voxxed Days is a series of tech events organised by local community groups that see both internationally renowned and local speakers converge at a number of international locations, beginning later this month in Zurich and ending in Dubai.
