Volta Data Centres, award-winning carrier-neutral data centre in Central London, is officially announcing the opening of its third floor at IP EXPO Europe at London Excel on 05 October, 2016.
Over the past 12 months, Volta has enjoyed rapid growth and due to strong demand is now opening a new floor in its Great Sutton Street facility. This expansion will add an extra 11,000 square feet of space; more than 400 racks, and a further 1.5 Megawatts of power to customers on that floor.
Representatives of Volta will be available at IP EXPO in the Colocation area to discuss the current data centre expansion, explaining how Volta can help to grow companies and SMEs across many different sectors and how Volta can support large enterprises fulfil global ambitions.
Elijah Charles, Managing Director at Lypy, shares his experience of how Volta has supported their business, “We were searching for a central London data centre that could match the very high level of business requirements our customers demand. After suffering with recent outages, the two rings of power supply, plus additional generators, gave me the confidence that Volta can meet my power resilience requirements.”
Volta has always planned to expand its capacity as it strengthens its foothold in the data centre industry, fitting out more floors to meet a growing demand for central London data centre storage. Interestingly, since the announcement of Brexit, enquiries made to Volta have increased by 50%, spurring on the development of the third floor.
Jonathan Arnold, Managing Director, Volta Data Centres explains, “I can understand why businesses would choose to host their IT infrastructure within a London data centre due to the growing uncertainty around EU data regulations. We’ve seen from our recent survey that UK consumers are concerned about data privacy laws, with 69% admitting they would worry if they knew that their personal information was being held in countries that had different data protection laws to the UK. No one is yet clear whether the impending exit from the EU will result in major changes to data security regulations and whether these regulations will be the same across both the UK and the rest of the EU.”
IP EXPO Europe is a well-known, ‘must-attend’ event for CIOs, heads of IT, security specialists and tech experts, making it the perfect platform to announce the news of this expansion.
Graham Stewart, Senior Solutions Architect, Academia, explains some of the benefits they’ve received after choosing to partner with Volta Data Centres, “Volta has done everything right – they’ve looked at the challenges within the building and used all of the modern technology available that wasn’t around when the older data centres were built, to construct a safe, secure and reliable data centre.”
