Euronet Software Solutions, a division of leading electronic payments provider Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ:EEFT), today announced that PT Bank Sahabat Sampoerna (Bank Sampoerna), based in Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia, has contracted with Euronet to complete their National Standard Indonesia Chip Card Specification (NSICCS) Issuer and Acquirer certification with the PRIMA shared network.
With the support of Euronet and our Indonesian partner, Telkomsigma, Bank Sampoerna is working to complete the implementation of system modifications needed to support Chip Card based ATM and debit card transactions. With the increasing demand for fraud prevention and account security, financial institutions around the globe are turning to chip card technology which stores account information in a secure chip within the card, and makes it virtually impossible to create a counterfeit chip card that can be used to conduct a payment transaction successfully.
Once NSICCS certified, Bank Sampoerna will have the capability to issue chip-enabled ATM/debit cards on behalf of its financial institution members, drive ATMs and offer enhanced security for services transactions at the ATM machine, Pinpad and EDC.
"Providing assistance and guidance to ensure compliance with industry mandates are important ways that Euronet works to meet the needs of our customers around the world," said Cindy Ashcraft, Vice President of Euronet Worldwide and Managing Director for Euronet Software Solutions. "We're honored that Bank Sampoerna has chosen Euronet to assist them in the NSICCS implementation."
