9 December 2016

In 2007, SAB joined the UN Global Compact.

Promoting the fundamental principles of the Global Compact that are Human Rights, Labor Standards, Environment and Anti-Corruption remains the SAB goal who obtained its ‘Advanced’ status for the 3rd time on the occasion of its 8 th Communication on Progress (Cop).

Membership of SAB Med and SAB Tunisia to the Global Compact

In order to further involve its two Mediterranean subsidiaries, and given the opening of GC offices in their country in 2015, SAB Tunisia and SAB Med became members of GC Tunisia on 8 November 2016 and GC Lebanon on 17 November 2016.

SAB Med and SAB Tunisia are fully operational SAB centers, bringing together all of the roles, missions, and functions which can be undertaken by SAB: commercial actions, research and development, client support, etc. The two subsidiaries participate in all value chains of SAB Group.

Their membership to the Global Compact will enable them to transform global goals into local activities, implement good practices locally and interact with companies in their countries, which could be more concrete for them; finally, this local enrichment can also be a vehicle for new ideas to be shared within the Sustainable Development Committee of SAB Group.
