New APS package controls the Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator API to integrate functionality into the Odin Service Automation platform
Flexiant today announced the release of the latest APS Package for Odin Service Automation that controls the Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator API to integrate functionality into the Odin platform.
Marco Meinardi, VP Product, Flexiant said, “Any Odin customer or service provider evaluating the Odin Service Automation platform can now add best of breed cloud orchestration for IaaS easily delivered by Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator. By using the APS Package, service providers can add IaaS orchestration to their Odin store front to sell compute, network and storage.”
Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator’s powerful functionality across hypervisors, granular controls and infrastructure blueprinting, delivered through the APS Package to Odin customers allows service providers to offer a true pay as you go (PAYG) infrastructure as a service, as well as the more traditional resource pools subscriptions. Advantages to using the Flexiant APS Package to deliver IaaS include:
- Hypervisor-agnostic freedom – service providers choose among, or combine, any hypervisor based on their business requirements, including Odin Virtuozzo and market pillars such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Granular usage-based metering – with the APS Package, service providers can now sell metered infrastructure, billed in a PAYG model by Odin Service Automation with granularity down to the hour, or the single byte sent through the network or disk controller, for example. This enables Odin’s customers to offer their end customers true on-demand IaaS. End users can consume only the infrastructure when and as needed and all charges are automatically applied accordingly.
- Access to advanced functionality – with Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator, Odin customers benefit from Flexiant’s infrastructure blueprints, multi-tier storage, extensive reseller functionality and more.
“The IaaS market has diversified to include a variety of use cases, but for many service providers managing the underlying technology is a challenge. This is driving the need for cloud management platforms to support a wide range of virtualization and storage technologies,” said George Knox, CEO, Flexiant. “Service providers opting to work with Odin and Flexiant gain the unique ability to rapidly design and launch highly differentiated commercial IaaS and cloud services in days or weeks rather than months and years. We give service providers the solutions to differentiate by moving faster than the competition, offering unique services, unique business models, unique business flow, and unique branding.”
IaaS is enabled by Flexiant’s cloud orchestration software with store front, customer management, automated billing and other capabilities delivered by Odin Service Automation.
