QTS, the market-leading supplier of online and mobile banking systems to building societies, has continued its long-standing relationship with National Counties Building Society (NCBS) to play an important part in the launch of the first new building society in decades, The Family Building Society.
After working together successfully for many years as the supplier for the NCBS Online service, QTS provided consultancy and development expertise in order to help launch a fully-functional online system for the new building society.
The project began with a comprehensive review of the existing NCBS Online service in order to identify and implement improvements to the system in order to deliver an enhanced user experience. Caroline Wortley, QTS Business Digital Analyst, led the review and said, “Following a high level assessment of the NCBS Online service, we were able to suggest a number of improvements to the layout, navigation and interface which would allow NCBS to achieve improved customer engagement”.
In parallel to this consultation, QTS was also commissioned to design, develop and implement an online service for the recently-launched Family Building Society. Implementation of a responsive design on both NCBS and FBS systems was essential in order to accommodate the continuing growth in use of mobiles and tablets.
QTS designed the system to allow for maximum flexibility - allowing the Family Building Society to introduce new services in the future as required and to ensure that any system enhancements can be applied rapidly. The new system also offers enhanced back office facilities to improve efficiency and to streamline administrative processes.
Commenting on the project, Keith Barber, Associate Director Business Development for National Counties and Family Building Society, said, "The responsive design of the new Family Building Society online service means that we can be confident that our customers benefit from consistent and feature rich functionality, whether it is accessed via mobile, tablet or other devices. The design and development efforts required to establish the new Family Building Society website alongside the existing National Counties one in a cost and resource efficient manner should not be underestimated. QTS were responsive to our needs, but most crucially delivered the considerable changes required on time, which was vital for our time-fixed launch"
Garry Williams, Managing Director of QTS, said “I am delighted that NCBS chose to work with QTS on the launch of the Family Building Society. This was a significant project which used our strengths in both consulting and development to deliver an innovative, robust solution, on time and to budget. We have built a strong working relationship with NCBS over the years and it’s been a pleasure to play a part in the birth of the UK’s first new building society in decades. Our solution gives the Family Building Society a flexible, efficient online channel from which to build the business. I’m confident that our system will deliver return on equity and allow continued innovation and future growth.”
