Today, Featurespace welcomes Gordon Hurst as the non-Executive Chairman of its Board of Directors, the latest in a series of transformational advances for the Cambridge University spin-out. Hurst, whose 26-year service with Capita Group began in 1988, has held a variety of positions within the company. He joined Capita’s Board as Commercial Director in 1995, was named Company Secretary in 2000, and has held a position as the Group Finance Director of Capita plc since 1996. As one of the most senior executives in the organisation, Hurst has steered Capita from just 33 employees in 1988 to become one of Britain’s most successful organisations. At present, Capita, a FTSE 100 company, has 65,000 employees and is the UK’s leading business process and customer management organisation.
Capita’s services sit behind large commercial and public sector organisations, making Hurst’s move from Capita’s board to Featurespace Chairman a fitting transition. The Cambridge-based company is the world leader in Adaptive Behavioural Analytics, offering data analysis that powers a broad range of sectors and organisations.
Hurst’s appointment as Chairman of the Board will help provide the leadership required to grow Featurespace from the UK’s most exciting tech company into a globally-renowned major technology business. Hurst said, ‘Having contributed towards the growth of a Capita over the years as an Executive, I’m looking forward to Chairing the Featurespace Board and supporting the ambitious plans for this fundamental technology.’
