San Carlos, CA - 11 November 2014

Standardized Excellence and Advanced Knowledge With MarkLogic® Enterprise NoSQL Database Solutions

MarkLogic Corporation, the leading Enterprise NoSQL database platform provider, today announced the official launch of its professional certification program for database administrators (DBAs) and application developers. NoSQL ranks as one of the fastest growing job trends and there is a strong demand for professionals with the competencies and credibility required to handle new generation databases such as MarkLogic.

The Certified MarkLogic Administrator and Certified MarkLogic Developer exams are now available. In order to become certified, candidates are required to pass a comprehensive five-hour, two-part core exam consisting of a written section, followed by a hands-on deliverable. The cost is $150 for each portion, to be administered online through the MarkLogic University portal.

“We have launched the MarkLogic certification program in response to the increased adoption of the MarkLogic Enterprise NoSQL database platform,” said Jonathan Bakke, executive vice president, worldwide field operations at MarkLogic Corporation. “Today, being a developer or DBA involves so much more than just knowing code; it entails the ability to integrate many different platforms as well as the ability to design and manage a variety of development projects. Our Certification Program maps to the skillset required on the job and is designed to test and validate them in order to derive value.”

MarkLogic software is the only enterprise NoSQL database platform that integrates semantics, search and application services with the enterprise features customers require for production applications.

MarkLogic is increasingly becoming the NoSQL database of choice and was recently ranked as a Leader in “The Forrester Wave™: NoSQL Document Databases, Q3 2014” by Forrester Research Inc. In addition, the company was part of the Leaders Quadrant in the recent Gartner, Inc. “Operational Database Management Systems Magic Quadrant.”
