Readers of Incisive Media’s Inside Reference Data have once again voted SIX Financial Information the ‘Best Corporate Actions Data Provider,’ at the annual awards ceremony in New York on May 21st. In addition, distribution of its Market Data Feed (MDF) with Bloomberg's data distribution platform was recognized in the vendor initiative categories of the Inside Market Data awards.
SIX Financial Information was voted "Best Corporate Actions Data Provider" for the 5th consecutive year, and in the Inside Market Data call for entry category, SIX and Bloomberg were together recognized for “Best Real-Time Market Data Initiative (Vendor)” and “Most Innovative Market Data Project (Vendor)”.
The awards were accepted by Barry Raskin, Managing Director of SIX Financial Information USA, at the Incisive Media Awards Ceremony, which took place in New York. Raskin said, “The SIX global corporate actions service is one of our crown jewels, and we are very grateful that the users of our data continue to feel so strongly about the quality and coverage.”
SIX Financial Information has often been credited with superiority in the area of corporate actions, a fact that reflects hard work and a program of continuous improvement. One such area of enhancement in the corporate actions service is in association with material modifications as defined under the US IRS FATCA regulation, which are essentially issuer or security-level corporate actions that could result in an instrument being moved from in-scope to out-of-scope or vice versa.
For its cooperation with Bloomberg, the two companies were recognized for innovation and pioneering market data service. “We are thrilled that the community has recognized our ground breaking efforts together with Bloomberg to give the financial industry more resiliency in their real-time data services,” said Dirk Sebald, Head Product Management and Marketing, SIX Financial Information. By means of the MDF adapter for the Bloomberg data distribution platform, Bloomberg and SIX have created a truly resilient real-time data delivery environment, achieved with dual-sourcing from Bloomberg's B-PIPE and MDF from SIX Financial Information.
