Acquisition expands Capita's debt collection services into Scotland
Capita’s debt and legal services business has today acquired Stirling Park LLP for an undisclosed sum. Kilmarnock-headquartered Stirling Park is one of the largest sheriff officer businesses in the country, responsible for collecting in excess of £350m of debt every year.
Stirling Park LLP provides a debt collection and sheriff officer service to 11 of the 32 Scottish local authorities, together with utility and financial services clients. It also acts for the majority of Scottish legal firms as sheriff officers.
Neil Smith, director in Capita’s debt management business, said: “The acquisition of Stirling Park will provide Capita with the scale and focus to grow its debt management business by expanding into the Scottish Market and providing a complementary service to our new high court Service in England & Wales. Capita has created a debt and legal services business through the consolidation of existing capabilities, including Optima Legal, together with the acquisitions of iQor (now Akinika) and analytics firm Euristix. It can now provide support and services for every stage of the debt lifecycle from first notification to collections and enforcement.”
Stirling Park has around 130 staff, including 23 sheriff officers. It operates out of 8 premises in Scotland.
