Eagle to Speak on IBOR at TSAM New York

Boston, MA - 17 June 2014

Mal Cullen, Head of the Americas & Eagle Accesssm to Address the Latest IBOR Trends, Opportunities and Challenges

Eagle Investment Systems LLC (Eagle), a leading provider of financial services technology and a subsidiary of BNY Mellon, will be represented on a panel discussion at the 2014 TSAM New York conference in New York City on June 19.

Eagle’s Head of the Americas & Eagle ACCESS, Mal Cullen will participate in a discussion centered on the Investment Book of Record (IBOR), including industry trends driving the need for IBOR, the business case for employing IBOR and how to identify the right technology solution in order to be successful. In addition, Mr. Cullen will address how a data-centric approach can provide firms with a single and accurate IBOR that can be fit-for-purpose based on the needs of a buy-side firm.

“IBOR is an industry trend that is here to stay and the most important aspect for investment managers to understand is that IBOR is a data management issue at its core. Buy-side firms looking to implement an IBOR must take a long-term view and look at the implementation as a strategic data governance decision,” said Mr. Cullen. “Taking such a data-centric approach to IBOR will ultimately help firms better manage their data to support better decision-making and create operational efficiencies.”

“I look forward to discussing IBOR in detail with my fellow panelists and also off-stage with TSAM attendees. Eagle is committed to furthering the discussion on topics like this that are important to our global client base and we are pleased to participate in another TSAM event dedicated to helping buy-side firms stay abreast of the latest industry developments.”

Eagle recently sponsored a white paper to help quantify the challenges faced by investment managers as they look to produce an IBOR. As part of the study, A Data-Centric Approach to Portfolio Management, a survey of senior executives at investment management companies and asset managers revealed that one in three felt an IBOR was ‘out of reach’ for their organization. Please feel free to visit our learning center to download a copy of the white paper.

TSAM New York will be held at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge where Mr. Cullen will be available throughout the day to discuss data management requirements with delegates. The IBOR panel session is scheduled to take place 4:05pm as part of the data management stream.
