SESAR modelling aims to describe the future management system of aviation in Europe
EUROCONTROL, the European organization for the safety of air navigation, is expanding the use of MEGA‘s enterprise architecture (EA) software solutions to manage the architecture repository of SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research).
SESAR is the name of the program aiming to supply powerful systems for air traffic management in Europe, and to modernize current systems. EUROCONTROL is a co-founding member of this program and aims to harmonize and unify aviation management in Europe by promoting a unique system for civil and military users, with maximum conditions of safety, while minimizing costs and environmental impacts.
"We are proud to see our solutions used in transformation projects that will bring everyday benefits to so many people,” said Lucio de Risi, CEO, MEGA.
The MEGA software solution is used to define the system architecture of the new European Air Traffic Management (ATM) information systems, processes, resources and exchanges between them. The NATO Architecture Framework (NAF) is embedded in the MEGA solution, allowing the description of different views.
"Through the set-up of a collaborative workspace, workflows and a shared repository, we make it easier for our stakeholders, working in many different European countries, to share information and work efficiently together,” said Paul Bosman, manager, System-Wide Information Management/Enterprise Architecture Unit, EUROCONTROL.
"MEGA’s global presence allows us to support organizations in more than 40 countries. The collaborative and multilingual work environment of our solutions helps our customers implement projects involving contributors around the world,” continued de Risi.
