Qlik, (NASDAQ: QLIK) a leader in user-driven Business Intelligence (BI), today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2014 Business Intelligence and Analytics Platform Magic Quadrant report*. This designation marks the fourth consecutive year that Qlik secured its position in the Leaders Quadrant based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. Gartner Magic Quadrants provide a snapshot of how vendors perform in a market segment with the goal of helping end users make better informed decisions about companies they may be looking to partner with, or whose services or products they may want to purchase.
According to the report, “By 2015, enterprise buyers of BI platforms will predominantly purchase platforms that support both strong and broad business-user-accessible data discovery capabilities and IT-driven enterprise features for data reuse, governance, security and scalability.” The report also states that “By 2015, the shifting tide of BI platform requirements, moving from reporting-centric to analysis-centric will mean the majority of BI vendors will make governed data discovery capabilities an expansion of, and the prime competitive capability for, their BI platform offerings.”
“It’s exciting to be a part of the pace of change in this industry. When we started in the Magic Quadrant, established ERP stack players dominated and as the pioneer in data discovery it’s great to see that the paradigm has definitively shifted,” said Lars Björk, Qlik chief executive officer. “We are encouraged that the identified trend of governed data discovery is aligned with our roadmap from our acquisition of Expressor to our plans QlikView.Next ”
Qlik’s history of growth and innovation in the category of user-driven BI continues as customers want to move from passively receiving reports to actively participating in analysis. In September 2013, Qlik announced the Company’s strategic roadmap to once again disrupt the BI industry with its next-generation platform to fill the gap between visualization or dashboard solutions and complex BI platforms tied to report-centric ways of doing business. QlikView.Next will give users the immediate insights they need and IT professionals the enterprise manageability and governance they require. Fundamental to making next-generation BI accessible and useful for a broad range of users is QlikView’s Natural Analytics™ approach, which taps into the natural human ability to process complex information. It supports the way human curiosity naturally searches, filters, questions, and finds associations in data to find meaning in information – more easily revealing insights and enabling decisions in the process.
Over these years of continued innovation and changing the face of BI, Qlik maintains its commitment to become the de facto global standard for how people gain insight from their data. With QlikView’s patented core technology, associative experience, and collaboration and mobile capabilities, users can ask and answer streams of questions on their own or in teams and groups, wherever they are working. Users can continue to explore information freely rather than being confined to a predefined path of questions and gain rapid time to value in deployments that can be productive in just days or weeks.
