Queen Máxima to Deliver Keynote Address
Morningstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: MORN), a leading provider of independent investment research, has announced the agenda and speakers for its fourth annual Morningstar Investment Conference Europe, a conference for institutional investors and leading investment academics across Europe. Some 250 delegates are expected to attend the two-day event.
Morningstar also announced that Her Majesty Queen Máxima of The Netherlands, in her capacity as United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, will deliver the keynote address at the conference, taking place in Amsterdam on 27-28 March 2014.
Queen Máxima, will address the role that investors have in building responsible, sustainable, and inclusive financial systems in emerging markets. ”The Principles for Investors in Inclusive Finance” are a framework for this, including consumer protection and transparent and diverse financial services for lower income groups and small and medium enterprises. The guidelines are part of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investing, which currently worldwide have the support of 49 funds and investors.

The Morningstar Investment Conference will deliver a diverse programme of presentations and panel discussions from industry professionals and academic experts from leading asset managers, insurers, banking, and academia. Organisations represented include Allianz SE, CSOB Bank, BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Cambridge Judge Business School, Das Capital, DeAWM (Deutsche Bank), Dimensional Fund Advisers, Ernst & Young SA, Franklin Templeton, F&C Asset Management, PGGM Investments, Robeco Group, and UBS Asset Management.
The conference will examine the latest investment research, macroeconomic insight, and money management strategies for the year ahead with topics including good financial stewardship in global finance through 2014 and beyond and managing risk through new methods of asset allocation. Further discussion will consider the effect of a low interest rate environment on institutional investors’ ability to manage risk and liabilities, and examine investing decisions and capital requirements as a result of legislative change. The conference will also include speakers sharing their latest views across a range of asset classes and assessing the value of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria in investing policies.
