QED Financial Systems Recognized by Independent Research Group for Portfolio Management System

8 April 2014

QED Financial Systems, Inc., an innovator and leading provider of investment management solutions and services, today announced recognition for asset class coverage, portfolio accounting and reporting in its portfolio management system by CEB TowerGroup, part of the financial services practice of CEB, the world’s largest member-based advisory company.

CEB’s Capital Markets Portfolio Management Systems Technology Analysis notes the highlights of the QED platform as asset class coverage, portfolio accounting support, and reporting capabilities. According to the analysis, QED “has significant functional strengths in global asset class coverage and overall workflow capabilities.” It names QED’s core competencies as data management, investment accounting and integration.

The CEB TowerGroup Capital Markets Portfolio Management Systems Technology Analysis focuses on vendors with mature products, recognized innovation and multiple large-scale installations with major asset management firms. Evaluations were conducted by CEB TowerGroup analysts and based upon a series of interviews and surveys with financial services executives, industry experts and vendors. The analysis identified 21 attributes that define a “best-in-class” portfolio management system and group them into four needs categories: workflow tools, user experience, operations support and enterprise support.

Gert Raeves, CEB TowerGroup Research Director, said, “For two years running now, investing in portfolio management systems is ranked among the top priorities in our CEB TowerGroup adoption and investment survey. The need to upgrade firms’ capabilities is centered on scalability, workflow scope and support for sophisticated reporting requirements. As information requirements are becoming more diverse and sophisticated, access to accurate and timely portfolio management data becomes more important. While the variety and velocity of those information requirements may be shifting, the PMS system was, is, and will be the central home for much of that data.”

Joseph Potesta, Chief Executive Officer of QED Financial Systems, said, “CEB’s recognition of QED’s strengths in global asset coverage, workflow, data management and investment accounting, along with integration, aligns with our objective to combine best-of-breed products and broad technology integration. This is how we deliver a complete, seamless investment management environment while containing costs and protecting our clients technology investment. We are appreciative of CEB TowerGroup analyst’s careful analysis and their release of this important study.”
