Xignite hosts San Francisco FinTechDev Meetup

San Mateo, CA - 24 April 2014

Technology Experts from Robinhood, NASDAQ and Xignite to Present

Xignite, Inc., the leading provider of market data cloud solutions, will host the FinTechDev Meetup on April 28 in San Francisco. Presenters will include Tom Linford from Robinhood, a start-up offering zero-dollar commission mobile stock trades, Brandon Tepper from NASDAQ OMX, and Al Chang, CTO of Xignite. Register for Meetup.

The monthly FinTechDev Meetup targets San Francisco/Silicon Valley engineers interested in financial services technology. Speakers address issues common for FinTech startups and demonstrate their technology. The April meeting is from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in San Francisco.

Robinhood, funded by Google Ventures, Index Ventures, and Andreessen Horowitz, is the hot Silicon Valley FinTech startup. In private-beta, the company has already registered 160,000 users who want to buy and sell stocks for free instead of having to pay per transaction. Tom Linford, Trading System Architect, is building the symbology, and integrating Xignite market data. He will discuss the challenges of building the mobile app and website and give attendees a peak under the hood.

Al Chang, CTO, at market data provider Xignite, will highlight what developers are building with their 45+ financial data APIs, preview XigniteLabs and let attendees “play” with their new free stock symbol TypeAhead API.

Brandon Tepper, Senior Managing Director, of NASDAQ OMX Global Information Services will outline new pricing and managed solutions designed for financial services startups. Tepper has more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
