Deutsche Börse and Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) today announced a partnership in which SSE via its wholly owned subsidiary China Investment Information Services (CIIS) will act as the official distributor and licensor of Deutsche Börse market data products in mainland China.
A signing ceremony attended by Deutsche Börse Executive Board Member Hauke Stars and Bo Que, Vice President of Shanghai Stock Exchange, was held today in Suzhou, China to celebrate the new partnership.

By establishing this link, we can provide Chinese clients with local service as well as fast and reliable access to our most popular market data offerings,” said Hauke Stars, Executive Board Member responsible for the Information Technology and Market Data + Services division of Deutsche Börse. “We are especially pleased to kick off this alliance on the great milestone of CIIS’ 20th anniversary.”
For this cooperation, Bo Que, Vice President of Shanghai Stock Exchange Stock Exchange, said, "One of the important ways for SSE to promote internationalization is to strengthen the cooperation and communication with domestic and foreign exchanges. For this strategic cooperation with Deutsche Börse, SSE will act as domestic sales agent and technical service provider for Deutsche Börse market data. Deutsche Börse will provide corresponding services for SSE in the future. This is a concrete step towards internationalization.”
The new cooperation benefits Chinese customers by providing them with local service in their language and giving them access to key Deutsche Börse market data feeds via SSE’s data center in Shanghai. The partnership also allows Deutsche Börse to strengthen its business in China.
Under the agreement, SSE will be responsible for real-time distribution, as well as marketing and sales of key Deutsche Börse market data products in mainland China. These products provide data for the derivatives market Eurex, the securities trading platform Xetra, as well as the renowned STOXX and DAX indices.

Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) was founded on November 26, 1990 and in operation on December 19 the same year. After over two decades of operation, the SSE has become the most preeminent stock market in Mainland China. As of the end of 2013, there were 953 listed companies, 997 listed stocks on SSE with a total market capitalization of RMB 15,100 billion, and free-float market capitalization of RMB 13,700 billion. The turnover value reached to RMB 22,960 billion, stock and corporate bond fund raise reached to RMB 251.6 billion. SSE total market capitalization, turnover value and total fund raising are respectively ranked as 7th, 5th and 6th of the global exchanges.
