Brady plc (BRY.L), the leading supplier of trading and risk management solutions for energy, commodities and recycling, announced today that multi-utility company DELTA Energy B.V. has selected Brady Power Scheduling solution to manage its power scheduling activities throughout Europe.
Located in Zeeland in the Netherlands, DELTA provides energy, water, collection and processing of waste and digital services, on both small and large scales, engaging some 3000 employees. Recognising that traditional energy sources are finite, DELTA has invested in the sustainability of its processes and techniques, both in energy generation, waste treatment, as well as water reuse and treatment processes. DELTA recently announced that it will purchase the green energy from Gemini, the biggest offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. As a result, DELTA is scheduled to become the largest supplier of Dutch wind power.
To support its future strategy, in which DELTA wants to connect wholesale and customer markets, DELTA has opted to install the Brady Energy Power Scheduling solution to support cross border energy trading and supply activities to connect to the Dutch, German, Belgian and French grid networks.
Michel Koornstra, Head of Trading at DELTA, commented on the rationale behind selecting Brady: “Following quite a rigorous selection process, which culminated in visiting other power scheduling customers of Brady, we were then quickly able to eliminate other vendors, as the solution’s performance, ease of use and scalability for future requirements, coupled with the team’s market knowledge and professionalism, gave us the confidence that Brady would be able to fulfil our current scheduling requirements. Brady’s unique position in being able to cover almost all European markets within one solution, along with its additional functionality of being able to handle capacity nomination, means that we will also be able to roll out the solution in line with our expansion plans that require additional market connectivity as well as support for an increase in trading volumes”.
Gavin Lavelle, CEO of Brady plc, commented: “By opting for Brady Energy Power Scheduling, DELTA will gain a strong competitive advantage over companies that rely on spreadsheets to manage the complexities of cross border trading. We are confident that DELTA will quickly enjoy the benefits and we look forward to adding additional markets as its business expands. We are proud to welcome this established European multi-utility company as a customer”.
