Nets has selected Oberthur Technologies' Trusted Service Manager (TSM) to secure Near Field Communication (NFC) services for its partnering banks.
The solution will be rolled out across eligible financial service providers across Nordic nations, starting in Denmark.
Oberthur Technologies provides a number of security and identification products and services that are based on smart card technologies and this will complement Nets' strong digital offerings.
The TSM is hosted in Oberthur Technologies’ data centre in the UK and will allow each partnering bank to securely issue, distribute and administer payment cards into the NFC SIM of their respective customers.
Nets' service will be provided as an open and flexible white label solution that end-users will perceive as their individual bank’s or service provider’s.
Susanne Bronnum, group executive vice-president of Nets, said: "Before the end of the year, Nets will be ready to embark on the first projects with banks and retail chains for the development of mobile wallets."
