Paydiant has been selected by the Subway restaurant chain to provide a variety of mobile wallet capabilities.
The payments firm offers redemption and loyalty platforms for retailers and banks looking to offer customers new and easy payment methods. The solution will start to roll out to stores before 2014.
Paydiant's cloud-based, white-label offerings allow retailers to add mobile payments, promotions and other capabilities into their own mobile apps. This enables retailers to leverage the mobile channel to deliver a better customer experience that builds loyalty and enhances their brand.
Several mobile wallet solutions require consumers to buy new phones and force retailers to invest in costly new point-of-sale infrastructure, but Paydiant's platform works with all current smartphones and integrates directly into existing systems.
Carman Wenkoff, chief information officer for the Subway restaurant chain, said: "[Paydiant's] mobile capabilities will be a key factor towards providing our customers with innovative services and an exceptional experience."
