Compass Plus was a Silver Sponsor of PayExpo, one of the largest technology and innovation events for financial institutions, telecommunications, retailers, gaming companies and service providers in Europe, held on 18-19 June 2013 in London, UK. One of event’s key panel discussions on day one saw executive vice president and CMO of Compass Plus GB, Maria Nottingham, feature alongside Barclays, John Lewis, Citi Bank, Deutsche Bank and Poste Italiano to look at ‘Examining how the role of the bank and merchant is changing in the new paradigm’.
The panel was well attended and drew a lot of interest from the audience, facilitating an open discussion about how banks and merchants can attract and retain customers by actively paying attention to their requirements. Whilst the participants agreed that loyalty or discount programs can interest customers, Compass Plus’ stance was that such promotions cannot be retained indefinitely and that banks and merchants must provide products or services that will fulfill consumer needs.
Maria Nottingham commented on the event: “It was great to be a part of the first ever PayExpo and discuss key topics with other big players of the financial industry. It was good to participate in the panel discussion and I have received a lot of great feedback from it. PayExpo shows a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing how it develops in the future.”
PayExpo attracted over 2,000 visitors and more than 60 exhibitors. Over the two days delegates had an opportunity to network with vendors and solution providers from the financial industry, participate in panels and listen to keynote speakers that tackled topics addressing the future of payments. The conference focused on various payment channels, regulations, trends and concerns of the financial industry as well as latest solutions and innovations.
