Winklevoss twins float bitcoin fund

4 July 2013

The Winklevoss twins, Cameron and Tyler, who famously sued Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg as featured in ‘The Social Network’ film and rowed in the Olympics, are setting up their own Bitcoin fund.

The twins have filed plans with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to establish the Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust, which will initially sell $20m worth of shares, with each share worth a fraction of a bitcoin.

According to the filing they are aiming at investors after a “cost-effective and convenient means to gain exposure” to the digital currency.
