Grant Thornton UK LLP is expanding its financial services (FS) team with the acquisition of the specialist UK FS advisory arm of Navigant Consulting Inc.
The expanded 45-strong team now incorporates three new partners and nine directors after the unpriced acquisition. The firm says it will enhance its ability to advise clients in the retail financial services marketplace and help its particular focus on the challenger banks in the UK such as Virgin Money, Tesco and Metro Bank, among others, who are hoping to disrupt the dominance of the established ‘big four’ of RBS, Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and HSBC.
Commenting on the acquisition, Scott Barnes chief executive of Grant Thornton UK LLP, said: "We are delighted to welcome the newest members to our financial services team, led by Peter Allen. Their expertise, coupled with the entrepreneurial and dynamic approach that they bring in the retail financial services market, perfectly complements our current offering.”
