The need for FS connectivity speed drives Azul and Ullink to partner

3 September 2012

Azul Systems, a Java specialist technology firm that focuses on improving runtimes and scalability, is partnering with the financial markets connectivity provider Ullink to improve the latency and consistency of its solutions.

Under the agreement, Ulliunk will offer Azul’s Zing Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to new and existing clients to improve the timely delivery of high message throughput for its offerings. In comparative testing of the Ullink messaging application, Zing has already reduced worst case response times by over 40 times in the financial services (FS) sector and it has improved overall response times by a factor of seven in 99% of cases.

According to Laurent Useldinger, chief executive of Ullink, the firm is, “always appraising the latest technologies to understand how they might improve our service offering. We have been testing the capabilities of the Azul solution for some time; during that period we have seen a definite and significant improvement in the consistency of message delivery across our global routing network. From our perspective, Azul is an ideal partner.”

Ullink targets buy and sell-side financial market participants that require fast, flexible and compliant trading solutions. Zing is now compatible with all Ullink applications, and the latest UL Bridge release version 4.0 has been further optimised to take full benefit of Azul’s Zing JVM, claims the manufacturer. The firm says it is confident users of its applications will now enjoy guaranteed throughput, certainty of execution and improved service availability even under unpredictable loads.
